This policy explains how Video Network (a brand of Media Partnership Ltd) uses cookies and similar technologies on videonetwork.tv. It should be read with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Some are essential to make a site work, such as keeping you logged in; others remember your preferences or are set by third-party services embedded in a page. “Similar technologies” means things like browser local storage, which some services use for the same purposes.
2. Our approach
We keep cookies to a minimum. The Platform uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work and to keep it secure, plus a small number of functional cookies that remember choices you have made. We do not currently use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not set cookies for third-party advertisers. Because of this we do not show a cookie consent banner; if we ever add cookies that require your consent, we will ask for it first and update this policy.
3. The cookies we set
Strictly necessary. Set by WordPress, the software the Platform runs on, to keep you logged in and secure your session: wordpress_logged_in_* and wordpress_sec_* (last for the length of your session, or up to 14 days if you tick “remember me”), wordpress_test_cookie (checks that your browser accepts cookies; expires when you close the browser) and wp-settings-* (remembers display settings for logged-in users; up to one year).
Functional. Set by the Platform to remember choices you have made: vn_invite (records that you opened an invitation link so you can create a videographer listing; up to one year) and vn_return (remembers the listing you were viewing so we can take you back to it after you sign in; 30 minutes).
Security. Our security and delivery provider, Cloudflare, may set __cf_bm and cf_clearance to distinguish real visitors from automated traffic and to run the Turnstile anti-spam check on our forms. These last from 30 minutes to a few hours and contain no personal information.
4. Cookies and storage set by third-party services
Some features are provided by other companies, whose services may set their own cookies or use local storage when you use those features. They are governed by those companies’ policies, linked below.
Mapbox (maps and location search). When you search by location or view a map, Mapbox may store a small amount of data in your browser’s local storage to run the map. Mapbox privacy policy.
YouTube and Vimeo (showreels). Videographers can embed a showreel on their listing. We embed YouTube videos in privacy-enhanced mode and ask Vimeo not to track, which means those providers should not set cookies until you press play; once you play a video, they may set cookies according to their own policies. Google/YouTube privacy policy · Vimeo privacy policy.
Google Fonts. Our pages load typefaces from Google Fonts. Google may record your IP address when the font files are requested, but no cookies are set. Google privacy policy.
Our course platform. Courses and Video Network Pro are bought on our course site, which is provided by Kajabi and has its own cookie and privacy policies, shown there.
5. Managing cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. If you block strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to log in or use your account. Guidance for the most common browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.
6. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the Platform changes; the “last updated” date shows when. Questions about cookies? Please get in touch via our contact form.
